Trincomalee is one of the most beautiful beaches that Sri Lanka has to offer. The pigeon island is 2 kilometers away from the coast surrounded by crystal clear waters that could simply take your breath away by it’s beauty. You would say “truly a paradise!”.
All dive sites are located a short boat ride away from the historic city of Trincomalee, and vary between ranges of coral, fish and indeed ancient statues at Swami Rock!
Swami Rock – Excellent Scenic dive, just below Fort Frederick and the ancient temple, this is a special place of worship, spanning over hundreds of years. There are Moray Eels, Groupers, Sting Rays and many reef fish.
Max Depth – 22 M
Navy Island – This dive site allows divers to explore rock formations with aquatic wildlife all around, from different coral types to fish (large and small), from eels to squid and much more.
Max Depth – 10 to 12 M
Eel Rock – If you want to see eels of different kinds, this is the place to be. It’s also a great spot for Nudi branches and box fish.
Depth – 12 to 18 M
Small Grouper – This is an excellent dive over a rocky bottom full of soft and hard colourful coral. Drift over marine life and hear the chitter chatter from snapping crabs and the array of reef fish
Max Depth – 15 M
Muttigala – This is home to many Anemone fish living amongst the brilliant colourful sea Anemones and is symbioses at its best. Also living here are Torpedo & Blue Spotted Rays.
